Bible and Culture – Graduate Impact

Bible and Culture

Where in the world is God? Where in the world are you?

If God's Word is living and active and relevant for teaching us about all aspects of life, how do we learn to apply it to the disciplines that shape our world - politics, identity, worldview, media etc.

This is our fantastic seven week residential course run in partnership with Schloss Mittersill in Austria.

The aim of the course is as simple as the title. We want to help you develop a deeper appreciation of God's Word - and so to grow in your walk with Him. And at the same time we want to help you learn how to apply God's Word to different aspects of contemporary culture. Whilst doing this we want to help you to become people better able to pass on what you know, so we will also train you to teach from God's Word.

Over the past three years we have had nearly 70 people attending the course - people from right across Europe and Eurasia - here are some comments from past students on the course:

I want to thank you for your help for Justina to participate in B&C. it was very valuable to her. In our last student camp she was leading a session of the question of identity of being a student and a Christian. I think it was one of the best presentations on this issue that I can remember. Steponas Ribokas (General Secretary LKSB (IFES Lithuania))

I really want to talk to my non-Christian friends and colleagues about the gospel. Not only about B&C in general, which is easy, but about what really matters, about the meaning of life and what is Jesus for us. I cannot do it on my own, I need to be taught and supported by Jesus because in the past I failed so often.
Christine Eichhorn (B&C 2009 Participant - Germany)

Do you know that it's just almost 7 weeks again since we've finished B&C? I can already say that this summer will have a long-lasting impact on my christian life, and that's really good!
Julian Fleury (B&C 2009 Participant - Switzerland)

I am so happy about this summer and that now I have more great persons in my life – you all. The experience at B&C was definitely one of the greatest, and I know that for many of you it was a great blessing and challenge at the same time – which is good. Let’s praise the Lord for that.
Agris Zagota (B&C 2009 Participant - Latvia now working for IFES in Italy)

The course is appropriate for Graduates, Post Graduate Students, IFES Staff and other full time Christian workers. There is usually (by God's grace) some scholarship funding available to help you attend the course, though becasue places are limited we will need you to give a good case for funding, together with references from your IFES movement.
